CIBIO-BIOPOLIS Collaborates in Educational Initiative in Cabo Verde

As part of a solidarity initiative promoted through collaborations between science communicator Vítor Lima and Porto Editora, as well as between CIBIO-BIOPOLIS researcher Raquel Vasconcelos, the ETE group and colleagues from the Atlantic Technical University (UTA), Natural Sciences books are now being distributed free of charge to more than 30 educational institutions across the islands of São Vicente, Santo Antão and Sal, in Cabo Verde.
As part of a solidarity initiative promoted through collaborations between science communicator Vítor Lima and Porto Editora, as well as between CIBIO-BIOPOLIS researcher Raquel Vasconcelos, the ETE group and colleagues from the Atlantic Technical University (UTA), Natural Sciences books are now being distributed free of charge to more than 30 educational institutions across the islands of São Vicente, Santo Antão and Sal, in Cabo Verde.
This year, the initiative doubles the previous distribution effort, enabling the delivery of more than 800 textbooks and activity books to Cabo Verdean students. The distribution is being coordinated by Dr Evandro Lopes, a professor at UTA, who has been closely involved in this educational initiative.
In addition to the books, laboratory materials collected through contributions from the CIBIO community were also donated, helping to strengthen the scientific resources available in schools.
We sincerely thank all partners and collaborators who made the acquisition, transport and distribution of these materials possible. We hope this initiative will continue to inspire scientific curiosity and foster interest in science among younger generations in Cabo Verde.
